Healthcare change? - We are trying to implement a national policy that most Europeans are trying to unwind due to unmanageable costs...
9/12/2009
Here in the United States we are debating a major change in our health care system and the difficulties of paying for it. We are trying to implement a national policy that most Europeans are trying to unwind due to unmanageable costs.
France and other European countries are debating the unaffordable costs of their health care systems and other deeply ingrained entitlement programs. Spain’s Socialist government is strapped for cash and opting for additional taxes “on the rich” to keep the system working.
The Japanese have just replaced the ruling party of fifty four years with a political party that is only a year old. Why? The government is spending too much money and can’t seem to get the economy moving since its downturn started in 1990.
The big question in Japan is whether new policies can overcome the demographics of an aging population. The big question for the US is whether the demographics of an aging population can afford the proposed changes.
