The fact that we, as a nation, are going to pay banks to take GM public again when we, as a nation, own banks ourselves.

Many state pension funds are so underfunded that recovery in our lifetime has become a very remote possibility. But that does not seem to stop them from trying. From borrowing the funds from the very pension fund they are making the payments to, to investing in places that are so risky they would make a casino blush. How would you like to be counting on those odds for your retirement income?
